Autumn 1 curriculum in Class 1

Today we were very lucky to learn some yoga!

We were visited by Miss Laura who showed us lots of different yoga stretches and breathing techniques.

We have had a very quiet and calm afternoon.

Autumn 2 Topic - Toys

Hand hygiene

The nurses came in to talk to us about hand hygiene.

We discussed all the times we should make sure we wash our hands to avoid spreading germs and getting poorly.

We even learnt about how to wash our hands to make sure we dont miss bits! They brought in red soap to show us how to cover our entire hands in soap.

We also discussed other ways we can keep our bodies fit, healthy and clean such as showering, cleaning our teeth, washing our face, eating healthy foods and exercising.

Our first few weeks in school

Our first few weeks in school have been very busy!

We have settled into our new year groups really well and lots of learning has been taking place in Mercury class.

Here are some pictures of us enjoying our classroom activities and doing some fantastic learning.

Autumn 1 Topic - Ourselves

Our first few weeks in Mercury Class

We have had a fantastic few weeks in school so far!

We have been exploring all the areas of our classroom and taking part in lots of different activities, we have been very busy.

In Literacy we have been learning about rhyming words, we have been reading rhyming books such as 'One mole digging a hole' and 'Room on a broom'. We have also been singing lots of nursery rhymes.

In Maths we have been playing lots of counting games and we love to use the washing line to order numbers.

We have started our topic work by looking at our ourselves. We have been comparing our appearances and our likes and dislikes. We know that it is good to be different!

Our Science work is all about humans this half term. We have already looked at our different body parts and their names and we have even been learning about our skeleton.

In Busy Bee time we have been learning how to write our numbers correctly. We have been working very hard on this.

Well done Mercury, what a great start to the year!
