The Catholic life at Holy Family is full of opportunities for children to encounter God and to deepen their relationship with Him as a loving, compassionate Father. On this page we aim to share with you and celebrate many of the elements which make our Catholic school so special. We aim to work together with our families and the Parish to develop our children's faith in the best way we can.
Our Parish
At Holy Family we have such strong links with our Parish community. We are so lucky to have the church a short walk away from school, meaning we can visit often. Father Stephen is a regular visitor in school and takes an active part in our school community. We are delighted that so many children join the Parish for Mass on a Sunday. Come along and join our celebrations. Mass begins at 6:30pm on Saturday or 10.45am every Sunday.

Holy Communion
We are very proud of our First Holy Communion candidates. Today they celebrated the sacrament of Holy Communion and were very reverent and respectful. They looked beautiful in their dresses and the boys look very smart in their shirts and ties. Well done everyone for all the hard work you have put in and to the families for supporting them.

Crowning of the May Queen
The Crowning of the May Queen and our participation in the Freckleton Club Day procession are key highlights in our school calendar — a true celebration of the Catholic Life of Holy Family. Once again, both events proved to be special occasions, blessed with sunshine and a strong sense of community. The children took part with dignity and reverence, offering an uplifting reflection of all that Holy Family stands for and truly living out our mission. We are incredibly proud of them.

Catholic Icon from the Diocese
As part of the Centenary of the Diocese a very special statue of Mary visited Holy Family for three days. The children had it in their own classrooms for a period of time and did some work on it including Bible scripture work and drawings. We had a meeting with the Willows school in Kirkham to receive the statue and then we passed on to St Bedes in Lytham. During this special tour, three statues of Our Lady of Lourdes will journey to every primary and secondary school in the Diocese, staying in each school for three days. These statues have been blessed and commissioned to encourage devotion to Our Lady, deepen our faith, and strengthen the bonds between our diocesan schools.

Catholic Cluster Mass at St Josephs Church, Ansdell
Our year 3 pupils had the most wonderful day celebrating mass and a picnic with our cluster schools for their first holy communion sacrament. They had a perfect day meeting new friends and celebrating their faith together.

The Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross depict the last few hours of Jesus’s life.
Almost two thousand years ago, an event took place in Jerusalem that changed the history of our lives. Today, we are here to remember that day: the day on which the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, took up his cross and walked a path of love that led Him to give up his life for us on the Cross. Father Stephen helped Mr Gaughan and Mrs Dodd teach us all about the different stations

Faith Leaders and Rosary Club
Our Faith leaders have been brilliant this year, and applications were so strong. Among so many other opportunities, they help lead our Rosary Club. Where all children are welcome to reflect on their intentions for the week.

Freckleton Clubday
What a wonderful day to celebrate with our Parish in a witness of faith. The sun shone (although a little too much at times!) and we walked and walked. But the children were amazingly patient. They represented the school very well once again. Thank you to Betsy for being a fabulous and beautiful rose queen. Her retinue also looked wonderful. Well done girls. A massive thank you to all the PTFA members, parents, families and friends who put in a huge amount of effort to make today look wonderful! The float, costumes and little hearts that were distributed by the children all made it look perfect. THANK YOU!

Luce enters the Holy Doors
Luce is the official mascot of the Jubilee year.
The Vatican chose Luce to connect with young people and inspire hope and faith in the younger generation. uce is our beacon of hope. Her yellow raincoat symbolises journeying through life’s storms, her pilgrim’s staff symbolises the pilgrimage towards eternity and her muddy boot represent the long, difficult journey of life.
Mr Gaughan was honoured to accompany Luce through the Holy Doors of St Peter’s Basilica in Rome - a special moment during this Jubilee Year. At Holy Family, we have been marking this sacred time through prayer, reflection and acts of service, as we seek to grow in faith and unity. She also opened our prayer room through the bronze doors. Through class liturgies, assemblies and personal prayer, our children are embracing the call to be pilgrims of hope, walking together with joy, compassion and trust in God.

Big Lent Walk
Our Big Lent Walk was kicked off by a wonderful, informative assembly by Diane Gallagher from CAFOD. She taught us all about the people in Gods world who are less fortunate than ourselves and how we can help them. Every £1 raised through the Big Lent Walk will help fight poverty globally in countries like Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan. We set up the playground as our very own walking track, and children were sponsored by the kilometre within the day. We raised a fantastic £253, well done everyone!
